Upcoming Board of Trustee Meetings

09/21/2016 - 01/13/2017

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Missouri Council on Economic Education will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, at 10:00am. The meeting will take place in the Member Services Center Conference Room of the Missouri School Boards’ Association Jefferson City office.

In the event of inclement weather, the December 9 meeting will be held at 10:00am on January 13, 2017.

Additional meeting dates:
Friday, March 17, 2017, at 10:00am.

2017 Missouri Personal Finance Challenge

The 2017 Missouri Personal Finance Challenge will be held from February 27 through March 24! Teachers interested in participating should contact Grant Black econed@umsl.edu or (314) 516-5248.

The State Championship round will be held April 14th in Jefferson City.

2015-2016 Personal Finance Challenge

The Personal Finance Challenge is an opportunity for high school students to demonstrate their knowledge of Personal Finance by competing with other high school students from around the state. Every high school student and teacher in Missouri is invited to compete in the Finance Challenge. Teachers can create as many student teams as they’d like, and the Missouri Council on Economic Education will pay all registration and participation fees.

  • April 8, 2016: Missouri Personal Finance Challenge–UCM
  • May 6, 2016: National Personal Finance Challenge–Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

St. Louis Economic Outlook Forum

The Missouri Council on Economic Education invites you to be a part of its 5th St. Louis Economic Outlook Forum to hear from nationally recognized economic and financial experts.

Thursday, October 22, 2015
11:30 am – 2:00 pm
Crowne Plaza, Clayton, MO

At this year’s event, economic forecasts will be provided by:

  • Charles Calomiris, Henry Kaufman Professor of Financial Institutions, Columbia School of Business
  • Ellen Hughes-Cromwick, University of Michigan and former Chief Global Economist, Ford Motor Company
  • Ronald Kruszewski, Chairman of the Boar of Directors, Stifel Financial Corporation and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated

Kate Warne, Principal with Edward Jones will serve as the event’s moderator, providing her own economic outlook and keen insight.

This program has been pre-approved for 2.5 hours of CE credit by the CFP Board.
